oil blowing out of by-pass valve
oil blowing out of by-pass valve
I have a 97 camaro with the ATI Procharger and Dual Intercoolers with a fully built motor, the by-pass valve has been blowing oil out of it, what could be causing this? I was thinking that the intake may not be lined up right and oil is leaking internaly because the motor seems to be losing oil and it isnt leaking or burning any. Does anyone have any idea of what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance everyone

The blower seals are gone. You are going to have to send the Blower to ATI for a rebuild.
I had EXACTLY the same problem. Although I have a D1 SC I had mistakenly overfilled the blower with oil. The oil seeped past the impeller seal and had to be replaced $250 for the "teflon" seal
it cost about $500 in all with shipping.
F**king expensive lesson to learn. hopefully someone on the boards will learn from my mistake and donations are welcome.

I would definetely send the blower back to ATI. If you do not send it now you may be sorry later when you need a rebuild. Is your blower still under warranty?? If so I think they will replace the seals for free.
Freakin ATI jerk offs suck *** to deal with. My god they left 10 parts out of my blower kit called them 2 weeks later when i was installing i was told i missed my chance to declare missing parts. I agree with 97 ta the seals are gone could be old cracked could be overfill and blown. There is one thing you might try if its not under war. I would add a shot of brake fluid to swell seals up temp fix might last forever. either way you send it for rebuild now or down the road .
I have a Vortech so I don't know if this applies or is this your problem. But getting reseal and changing bearings at Vortech cost at least $350. I learned from LJ (www.acceleronics.com) that he checks his bearings and reseals his supercharger. So since my SC was leaking oil and the main seal was worn out, I opened it up and changed out the main seal and the o-ring as well. Very simple and the seals cost a total of $15. It's just a matter of finding a place that can get you the seal which is like a camshaft seal.
