how come nobody makes a screw S/C for the LT1??? I know we would have some hood clearance issues but i'd be willing to let the snout hang out

has anyone ever put one on an LT1?

 

There's no real point when you have great centrifugal blower setups by ATI (P1SC, D1SC) and Vortech (S-Trim, T-Trim, YSi-Trim)

 

they make those for the LS engines too, yet they still get the screw option.

 

Economics were the main reason. There were only 3 cars that used the LT1. F bodies, Y bodies, and B bodies. F bodies couldn't use a roots style without major modifications to the cowl area. B bodies were family cars. And Y bodies required a new hood (expensive) for a roots to fit.

 

Yeah, I wish there was a roots so we could see the psi at all rpm levels...
