Nitrous

I have a vortech s-trim supercharger with 6 lbs of boost. I am wondering how much nitrous I can run on a stock block. The only other thing that is done to the engine is 42 lb injectors, the rest is stock. Thanks in advance

Re: Nitrous

None, unless you want to join the rebuild club. Stock pistons will not like this combo. If you use race gas, you might get away with it for a while.

Re: Nitrous

You can run it, but Rich is right and you'll be living on borrowed time. I ran a 75 shot on 6psi when I was running 12.70's to 12.80's on boost alone. It took me down to 11.30's on ET streets. That was with a 12 bolt and street twin though. 36lb SVO injectors, but i had it tuned on the conservitive side with about 28 to 29deg of timing. I'm at 5500ft, so I can get away with a little more timing, but you might not want to run that much. My a/f's were in the low 11 range also. I'll also add that I didn't run that way too much either. Only at the track and probably not more then 5 or 6 runs. She didn't blow, but a few months after that, my oil pump let go and did me in. 150hp shot, a few more pounds of boost and 33 more cubes later, i'm ready to revisit the track.

Pulley down instead of spraying.
