New crank/blower brace for forced induction cars!

I don't know if everybody already knows about this and I am just behind but I thought that I would run it by everybody. It is a brace that Speed, INC is making now that bolts to the head unit (blower) and to the crank to take some stress off of the crank. Definitely is worth looking into, I know I am going to check into it when I get to that stage of my buildup. Here is the link:

I read through that thread, but no one would give a price estimate.

Yeah, it sounds like you have to give them your exact combo and they make it to suit your needs. If it works, it would definitely be worth the money, better than snapping a crank snout anyway!

Does anybody else know of anyone that has used a brace such as this? Does anybody else know of any other products such as this?

I believe this brace is used by many Mustang guys. Also remember that is brace is specific to Vortech only. I am not sure if he currently offers a kit for ATI blowers.

I wonder how often you would have to grease those bearings and whether they are sealed to keep dust, etc. out. Might not be the greatest thing for a car that sees a lot of street or travel miles. Probably great for strictly racing, though. Just my 2 cents worth.

Yeah, I wondered that myslef. But, my car is a garage baby and doesn't see very many miles and stays very clean so I don't think that it would be an issue.

The brace was made for me by Bob and Chris. You could email Bob:

bob@kurganmotorsports.com

The Renegade Mustange NMRA racers have been using braces like this for a few years. They are routinely running 21-27 psi with 8 rib belts. The brace allows you to crank up the tension. I was getting some flex from my brackets even though they are billet. I'm seeing 21 psi right now with an 8 rib.
