Need help with Turbo decisions for Forged LS2 Engine
Need hel with Turbo decisions for Forged LS2 Engine
I am stuck in a tough situation. I am in NJ which from my understanding is the next closest state to CA as far as being tough on emissions and inspection since most NJ inspection stations are now privately ran. I am having an engine manufacturer build me a low compression engine to withstand a lot of boost, but the problem isn't the engine. Its the turbo. I would like to buy a PTK system, but i have been told that it wouldn't pass visual inspection even if it did pass the sniffer test. And to my knowlede, i know of no other systems that would pass NJ inspection other than the STS rear mount. I was just wondering if any of you had some ideas about what i can do for a turbo system? Otherwise its just going to be the STS with a 76 GTS turbo. I have faith in the STS, but little faith in the spooling. Thanks for the help.

**** if it was me i would just try to bribe someone and bring it in anyway. if you toss someone $100 they probably wouldn't say ****. thats my opinion

I will be running the STS kit on my built 370 very soon. I don't see why you wouldn't go with that. What are you building the motor to rev to? And, if it's an auto, just get a high stall converter, and lag is a non issue. I've had my STS kit for over a year, and I love it. I don't know how the 76 will spool (I've been using the base 60-1), but that's the turbo I went with...so I guess I'll know pretty soon.
