Re: Methanol

Most paint or hardware stores can order it. But it will be expensive there. We get it by the drum at a local chemical supplier. Just picked up a drum at $3.09/gal, but by the 5gal. pail it was $4.75/gal.

They will probabl need to order it, so you will have to talk to someone who actually knows something and doesn't give you a blank look when you say methanol. Some people still call it "wood alcohol" btw.

Re: Methanol

Some CO-OP type stores that have a tire center carry it. I believe they put it in tractor tires or something???

Re: Methanol

You might even be able to find it on the web.

Example: http://www.sciencelab.com/page/S/PVAR/10420/SLM3835

Not that you would want to order from them in particular. You'd want to search around to find a good price and hopefully someone local to you.
I'm just pointing out.

Re: Methanol

Your local race track should have it. I bought 2 gallons
in November for $2.50 per gal. I mix mine 50/50 with
Ozarka distilled water and a little blue washer fluid for
coloring.
