messed with shift points and got great results

I tried a little experiment today. I was getting bad traction loss when my car shifts from 1st to 2nd. I used my Hypertech and changed my shift points from stock zero to -6 (6 less mph or lower rpm's) and dropped my 0-60 time by 1/3 of a second. I was guessing since the rpm's are now lower when the car shifts i get let less wheel spin which it felt like. I barely make any boost in 1st gear so now when it shifts sooner i start to make boost quicker and at a lower speed and it makes more boost when i hit 60 than before. I will play some more and try the -5 and so on and find which one works best. Its getting cold here and it will be 7 months before the track opens if they don't condem it first. I will need to find some empty stretch of highway and make my own 1/4 run. I have only changed the maf back to the stock factory one, put 315's on the rear and this shift point change and have cut .82 seconds off which is hugh for me. I did use the engine restore treatment but im unsure weather it did anything.

I just went out after going up one to -5. I got 6 straight times all about the same. My last one was a full second better than my average. I got full traction when it shifted and i felt like i was going to loose control during the shift so i got an incredible 0-60 time. I guess the tires were good and warm from the previous runs. Now i have to find a way to get it to do that everytime!
