yes, i know basically nothing about tuning. id like to get a tuner program but i cant afford what id need for my obdII car right now so it will probably be a while before i start my own tuning.
i tried to get some info on the maf massager here but i got about as much info as you apparently have.
i didnt expect to have a problem with my maf when i put my vortech(standard 6psi kit) on, but i did. when my maf maxed out the car cut out, started shuttering and barely wanted to run. my brother in law who is a gm mechanic scanned it and it coded for maf error and excess airflow.
i ran it for a while without the maf and it ran okay, just smelled pretty rich. once i got the MAF massager from procharger i got the car dyno'd then had madz28.com tune it off the dyno/AF graph. i runs good, and on the dyno it didnt jump around at all as far as the AF goes. just a little rich still, so ion leaned it out some.
im not sure what the massager does, but it seems to work well. it cost $195 otd.

it plugs between the maf and the harness. its a box with a long extension wire on it so that you can locate it in the same area as the air filter is located(infront of the LF wheel). but since thats where my maf is i just coiled it up and tywraped it to my aftercooler hoselines.
ill take a pic of it and email it to you when i get a chance.
are you having problems with your maf maxing?

Re: Maxing out MAF sensor
i have a problem with this...
as soon as i start boosting, the computer will ignore any table (PE or afr vs coolant temp) and will just dump fuel, making me run at 9-10s AFR... i have edited the tables to max - to take out fuel, but nothing happens.... i had to edit my MAF tables to get it to work...

Re: Maxing out MAF sensor
i'd have to check, i dont have any runs with it....
i'd have the put the old tune back on and see... very lazy to do that lol
what i did works fine... i run off open loop, and as soon as i boost (when the MAP would read higher then 103kpa) i go REAL rich... (again, dont remember the inj pw) so i just tuned the maf from 150 gps and on to 20% less....
seems to work well.... i get real good cruise afr (anywhere from 13s-14s) and when i floor it right as the gps gets to 150 the car kinda jerks for a split second (AFR hits 16 really quick) and then it starts to pull real hard at 11.7-12.3
