Max WOT timing ?

Been conservative on the car while it was a daily. Headed to the track next weekend and wondering how much advance timing I can run on pump gas. Currently have the table set to 22deg to redline. Now that i have my dual wideband working i want to get a little more aggressive. Car see's about 7-9psi. I built a table starting at 30 @ 2000rpm and decreases linearly to 22 by redline.

Do you see any boost at 2krpm? I'd start by leaving the timing alone in the non-boost rpms, then go linear. You may have to dip timing down a bit at the peak tq rpm (somewhere around 5000rpm or so). Watch your fuel pressure at the top end of a pull. I just discovered my walbro was completely maxing out around 8psi.

I don't see boost until around 3k rpm. Fuel pressure holds steady 45psi to redline. Just loaded a map today and it seems like it should pull harder. Would 25deg be too greedy? I know the PCM usually adds in 3deg, so that would be around 28deg at 7psi.

Without knowing about your combo, especially what your CR is it's hard to say much about timing, but if it's a stock short block, be VEWY VEWY careful with timing. In fact, 22 degrees sounds about right if it's a stocker. It will NOT tolerate detonation.

Don't advance the timing beyond 24 degrees.
