Masterpower GT45??
Masterpower GT45??
Hey guys I got a great deal lined up on a masterpower GT45. They guy wants 425 SHIPPED (this unit is basically new with 5 miles on it) he said it was too big for his car.
I was planing on running it on my 383, running around 10lbs of boost.
There is a guy on theturboforums running one on his 383 and he said it maxes out around 15psi. (to me this is okay since i prob wont go that high)
Right now I put 410RWHP down N/A ( i am hoping for around 550-600RWHP)
Think this will work? Or should I just keep looking around?

It will support your goal... but reviews on the gt45 go both ways.
Some people say that it wont' really support much more than a t70, but the much bigger exhaust housing slows spool time - not such an issue on a 383 though.
I am done buying used turbos, just not worth it. You can pick up a new t70 for just over $500, and I think the gt45 is in the 6-700 range.
I have seen plenty of turbos go bad in less than 5 miles too... JMHO
Also, is your 383 built for boost? If its an na motor just spray it.

It was a boost motor but LE2 heads are on it so its at 9.78:1....-28cc JE pistons.
I currently have NOS on the car set up for a 150 shot, filling bottles is getting old tho.

Do you think i should just spend the extra 150 bucks and get the S400.....only downfall is the S400 is so damn big
. I dont wanna spend the 1100 or so on a turbo and these seem to be my only options.
Im thinking the S400 would be the smartest. (not to find where to mount a t6 turbo :O)
