GT45 Turbo ?s

My buddy has gt45 with a t4 housing it is new and he wants 400 for it. My question is, what size in mm would that be and how much hp is it good for and do you think 400 for it is a good price.

GT45 is a family, not a specific turbo. You need the whole modle number.

80mm inducer, 700-1250hp

I also had a question on this turbo..im looking to buy a single front mount kit that has the gt45, which ive been told is T66 internals with an oversized compressor housing and oversized divided turbine housing and uses a standard undivided T4 flange for the turbine inlet...is this too small for a 355 that made 650 whp on 15 psi from an F1A?

How much boost can i make with this thing at 5600 feet? 12 psi would work to get me close to 600.

If you want to make more than the current setup you have, then I don't think the turbo will do it. However if you are happy with 600-650rwhp out of the turbo setup, then the turbo should be fine.

Cool, i dont want to go over 650 whp corrected because ive still got arp studded 2 bolt mains and stock crank. The only reason im looking to go turbo is bc my f1a EXPLODED, and i dont want to bother with broken blowers.

Would a 38mm wastegate be suffice to support 600-650 whp? Would this turbo choke out on the top end?

With wastegates, the lower the boost you want to run requires a bigger wastegate. If you are planning non running 10psi or more, it will be fine. As far as the turbo choking on the top end... hard to say. How high are you spinning your motor?

Ok cool..im only spinning to 6200 bc my cam doesnt make more power above that and i was getting close to maxing fuel system (42lb/hr with Cartek FMU, 255 intank and vortech inline booster)

Whats a good BOV to use for something like this?

I would think it would be ok.

If the fuel system worked for the cog driven blower, it will work for the turbo. I would still recommend 60# injectors if you can get them.

42# injectors might get you to 500-550rwhp.
As for spool time and chopking at the top end, what's the A/R of your turbine housing?

I believe its a 66 a/r compressor side and a 1.05 a/r exhaust side.

It seems most people are using P-trim .96 A/R (T4 housing), so if your exhaust trim is close in diameter to P-trim, then it's plenty big.
