MAF air flow limit???

Does anyone know at what point, if at all, the LT1 MAF may become a restriction when being used on the intake side of the supercharger? Was just curious. Thanks.

With 3" piping used on most superchargers I can't see the MAF ever being the restriction. I would consider the intercooler more restrictive.

I should have given more details. We're talking T-trim (3.75" inlet) with 4" intake pipe. No intercooler due to water/meth injection.

I still don't think it would be much of a restriction. Not any more restrictive than the Throttle Body or Air Filter. Have you descreened it? Where is your MAF located?

Re: MAF air flow limit???

Yeah, i tried it once but I couldn't get it to stop surging during cruise (light throttle) no matter what i did to tune it. Thats why i put it back down low. I'm contemplating moving it back up with the intake tube conversion, but dread trying to tune it again cause my setup now cruises so smooth now. I'll try it up there again after the intake is on and see what happens.

Re: MAF air flow limit???

Did it really help with the surging by moving it back to the intake side of the s/c? I have mine up top, but I cant remember if thats when I started geting the surging problem. Thanks

Re: MAF air flow limit???

It did with mine. Surging with it on the intake side is almost non-exsistant on my setup. Moved it up to the pressure side with no tune changes and it surged a lot. Tried retuning it and couldn't nail it down and make it go away so gave up and moved it back. I guess i'll be giving it another shot though.

Re: MAF air flow limit???

Mine surges quite a bit around idle. The problem is the outlet to the bypass valve is too close to the maf, causing turbulent air. There isn't much room to relocate it somewhere else. I just live with it, since my car is not a daily driver.
