LT's with sts?

Is anyone running long tube headers with an sts kit on an lt1? I was curious if there is enough room for the headers and the intake pipe past the k-member. already tried a search.

Re: LT's with sts?

I talked to the people at STS when I was thinking about putting one on my car, there is no problem with using them, the bad thing though, they provide almost no advantage over the stock manifolds. The turbo becomes the choke point in the exhuast which is also why you dont have to run a muffler with the turbo. The best thing to do would be to sell the headers and use the money for some stock manifolds and to put towards the turbo. I'm not trashing the STS kit BTW, I love them but I felt that a supercharger would be able to give me the performance I was looking for and take advantage of the exuast stuff that I had already spent so much money on, plus my dad bought me the headers as a birthday gift so it just wouldn't feel right selling them.

I'm not sure how well it clears the headers, but they said it wouldn't be a problem and that they have a few customers running thier kit with long tubes.

You have to get the LS1 kit for the LT1 if you're using LTs.
