Re: LT1 Boost PT88 Build

When it comes to a metal stamped or embossed logo you don't want a large variation because it will increase cost. Something simpler such as just the company logo would be a much better way to go.

Re: LT1 Boost PT88 Build

Which is why I also suggested stamping them himself...I think that is pretty simple and would take about 5 minutes once the tabs were made- which blank tabs are easy to come by or make.

A small company such as this, which is showing GREAT customer service after the purchase I think it would be beneficial for Jon to track his kits down the road with either a simple serial/cust number on the tab.

If Jon were cranking out 50-100 kits a week- yes bulk premade tabs might be better advertising. Just my opinion of what I've observed and witnessed Jon helping people prior, during and post sale..even people that didn't even buy it initially from him, being able to know exactly which kit it is seems to be a better option IMO. Guess we wait for Jon to chime in...

Agreed.... kind of like what SLP or stainless Works does.

I appreciate the positive words! I do like the idea of stamping numbers on the kits for traceability and also provides the customer with a feeling of uniqueness. I will look into the stamps/punches.

How about best of both worlds...a nice stamped logo you can always put on one side, then a custom 'build' label for the opposite side?

Or do a premade logo stamping with enough space to hand stamp the kit number on the bottom or something.

Build a wood box to hold your stamps after you decide how big they will be and what you want them to say. Put in your stamps and then put one of your blanks on top of the stamps with a wood backing. Put it in a vise and screw it down. The stamping process is very manual, but the stamp will look better than using individual stamps and trying to hammer them in a line.

Looking good! What is the purpose of using the flexible exhaust piece? I saw in another thread, you replace the insides with a solid piece (or maybe it was ribbed....for her pleasure ).

LOL!

The flex piece serves 2 purposed:

1) to allow for each side of the hotparts to expand/contract at different rates, thus reducing the chance of a weld breaking.

2) also allows for slight misalignment, and still be able to bolt together.

In the other thread, the mesh I removed on the inside just covered the ribs.

Jon,

Do you have a link to show what mods need to be done to the radiator to give extra clearancefor the turbo and pipes?? also how to modify the front bumper support for the intercooler and piping?

Thanks.

I'll take pics when i start doing the IC and piping. Turbo should clear stock radiator in tilted position (but pusher fans will be needed).

Re: LT1 Boost PT88 Build

Hey Jon, my buddy and I were wondering... Do you think the turbo bracket that bolts to the block is strong enough to support the weight of the turbo?? Or would it be better to reinforce it in this application? I'm probably gonna invest in some ceramic coating and would hate for it to come apart Either way you know best but let me know what you think

That bracket will support you, let alone the turbo
