ls1 turbo
i have a video of that system in an LT1 camaro, sounds pretty strange and it looks like the turbo lag is absolutely horrible. Guess thats what you get when you mount the damn thing 8 feet from the exhaust manifold
.....a supercharger kit would be in the same pricerange and IMO far superior to that turbo set up (no not EVERY turbo setup, this one in partircular)....

Well it seems to be putting down pretty impressive numbers, even besting some supercharged cars Ive read. I just read one with a stock engine with 9 psi (ATI) put down 350 horses, the sts is putting down that with 5 psi. Not saying all ATI will only be 350 horses, but non the less the STS does pretty well. Even if it does have some turbo lag, its still better than a charger that takes high rpms to reach full boost. Of course people tell me all that power down low isn't really needed because of traction issues. My main reason for liking this kit is the price, there are no other turbo kits that produce this power for so cheap. IF your dead set on a turbo than why not, I hear people complain about that one turbo kit, the one with the logs, and its more expensive.

ya that seems pretty low, wasn't to sure about the setup I just kind of skimed through and saw the numbers with stock engine- I think its with a hooker exhaust to. Anyway heres the link http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...tCar.php?car=7
There are a couple of threads on LS1.com in the FI section about the kit on an LS1. (I just got done reading them about 2 min. ago.)
People will always trash talk on this kit. The worst talkers appear to be the ones that get owned by it while racing... Take it for what it is, a great way to add alot of power to your system. Is it perfect? Probably not, but just about as close as most people can get.

as close to perfect as you can get? Its about 8 feet from perfect.... perfect would be mounting the turbo(s) right on the exhaust manifolds where the exhaust gas is still actually hot, the only problem with this is it would require a lot of fabrication, there in lies the problem, it sounds pretty cool to say "i have a turbocharged z28", so someone dreamed up this idea of replacing the muffler with the turbo and effectively bypassed all of the fabrication issues, so now people can say "I have a turbo charged Z28" then they don't mention it makes only 350 hp....according the the gtech pro from their site, at 10psi and running methanol and water injection.......350 hp? with all that bull****? an ls1 with a cam swap would eat that alive, not to mention it would sound WAY better.....IMO the sts system is a novelty item more than a legitimate way to make power.....get a procharger....
there are the people who are going to bash the kit because you have the turbo eight feet away from the exhaust manifolds. That is not the best idea for a turbo kit. Vortech and ATI have both proven themselves. Their kits make good power, their reliable, and work for several years. Until STS does this they are always going to be critizied(sp). I do personally don't like the kit, but for 3k it is a decent power adder. We will see how many kits they sell and what problems occur while using it.

You miss the entire point of the kit....but oh well, to each his own
