Low vacuum at idle

Low vacuum at idle

only pullin around 9-10 at 850rpms...does that sound about right?
Cam is a blower custom cam....236/242 on 115lsa 576 lift on intake/exhaust...

what kind of timing do you have at idle ? i think i have about 34*..put a vac gauge on it and keep adding timing until it go's down...

where is your peak HP with that cam? is that lift with 1.5s? can i get some more info on your cam.. where did you get it? im kind of looking for somthing along those lines myself

what should i be shooting for? i think i am running about 30 timming wise..

I would think 30* is to low..but the only way to find out is to put more idle timing in and see if the car likes it....put 32* in and watch your map sensor see if the number gos down, or you can do the same with a vac gauge hooked up.....

in which table in tuner cat are you talkin about?

timing tables 200-800-1200 i think off the top of my head add in 32* to all of them, make 200/800/1200 32* and start from there...

didnt help one bit...still right around 11 at 800rpms

Mine likes 28 degrees. I get 13" of vacuum. When the AC compressor kicks on it drops to 11 or 12". The compressor will kick on sometimes when the heater is on too. Also your idle vacuum will go up once the fuel trims trim out your A/F ratio. So you have to drive it a few times after you tune it before the vacuum will settle down. Hope this helps.

Any other ideas? I also have a problem with low vac.

I'm floating around 12 inches of vac at a 725rpm idle (I cut it down. It sounds cool). Thats on a 218/224 cam. I believe my timing is floating around the high 20's at that idle and map readings.
