Lots of boost
Lots of boost
Hey guys building a forged 383 and adding a F1.How much boost can a stock block handle?I am starting with about 15 psi but will eventually go up as more mods are made.Maybe add a little nos. Thanks guys
There are people making over 1000 rwhp out of a stock block. If you are going the F1 route then I would highly recommend not getting the twin high flows and going with a custom front mount intercooler. I know rskrause is putting down some good numbers with his F1 and he is also spraying on top of that.
Hope you have a big budget.

My question is this... if you only want 15psi- why bother with an F1? And why dream of N20? The F1 is more than enough to put a car into the 9's. You also don't mention anything about good heads. It takes more than a shortblock to make a car scream.
Good luck!

But the reality is that the block itself will handle more power than 99.99+% of us are going to make. A 383 with decent heads, a medium sized blower (D1, T-trim), and a fairly mild hydraulic cam will make in the high 600-700rwhp range (if it's an M6). There is a lot in terms of supporting components needed even at that level. The block will certainly not be a probem if it is prepped properly.

Hey fella's thanks for the replies.Maybe there was some confusion about my goals.I said that I was starting out with 15 psi to get use to the power and then increase as more mods are made. The heads I will be useing are the Pro 1.Thanks again for your comments
