Issus with my System

Hello i just purchased a 1993 trans am. It has a garrett precision turbo kit with a T-68GTS.. it is turbo to water and everything is good except for a few scratches and bells and whistles.. However, there is one issue im not too particular about.. When i floor the T/A around 4 grand it seems it hits the rev limiter but it has been taken to redline(6 grand) before the problems.. everything works fine driving normally but especially when racing it seems to do it more often than not. once in a great while it wont do it and runs fine.. i tried changing out the turbo filter and put a new one in and it still doesnt work.. i just want some feedback as to what could be the problem.. if there is anything u can contribute i would greatly appreicate it thanks!! and some things to add it was tuned on the stock ECM.. the tune is based on 2 bar map sensor. the system is running around 11-12 volts right now.. The tune was performed on a dyno at AKRON Hp in Ohio.. another thing if i ease into it 500 rpms at a time i can get up to 6 grand no problem.. its when i load it all on it at once it occurs.. Horsepower wise. at the motor is around 450 horsepower and at the wheels it is running 345 there abouts with 7 lbs of boost.. the injectors are SVO#36 .. im not too sure about the retard timing on the boost or if the knock retard programming was altered.. i think it was dynoed with the computer acting as a retard for the boost.. which explains the low max boost.. This whole entire system was designed and put in at ohio forced inductions.. the kit includes
1 3/4 Tubular Headers

T-68GTS (Garrett) Precision Turbo

2 1/2" Crossover Pipe

3" Downpipe

V-band clamps on Headers and Downpipe

5-Ply Silicone

Custom 3 1/2 Aluminum Radiator

2 Spal Fans

Tial 50mm BOV

Tial 44mm WG

Oil Drain and Feed Lines

If there is any other information needed let me know... thank you for your time

Sounds like you need to check your fuel pressure. With you being able to bring it up with no load just fine, but under load it sounds like it is starving for fuel.

Its either fuel or spark.LOL. Sometimes when I have my tune really rich (<10-1)it will start to miss under load. I've also had a similar problem when the plug wires were bad. I recommend everyone have a wideband so you can eliminate the fuel problems pretty quickly. Hard to tell you exactly without testing. Like someone said above a fuel pressure test is one of the first things you should try.

I believe its the car with the Ohio Forced Inductions turbo kit, not the kit you mentioned. Was the guy's username "Kane" something or other?

gpt68:
Pull your plugs and check the gaps. Especially if they are the stockers or any type with Pt or Ir pieces on the electrode tips. They are known to "disappear" and leave you with a gap out at .070 - .080! Most people boosting are running plug gaps of .035 - .040 instead of the stock .050 so as not to "blow out" the spark at higher manifold pressures.
Good Luck!
