Inercooler/methanol injection
Re: Inercooler/methanol injection
[QUOTE=jrutland]Are you running your shot on pump gas too?
No I always have Race gas in at the track and usually run a 50/50 mix race gas pump gas on the street. But I have taken things farther than most do. Its to much power for the street anyway so I don't see much boost on the street.

Thanks for the response. I bought a nitrous kit to throw on for every now and then but I think I'm going to sell it and get a meth kit first...then if I still need...uh, want some more power I'll get another n2o kit.
Thanks Jeff.

I wasn't sure how my combo would react to the Meth but it works great and seems to really love that little shot of juice mixed in

Re: Inercooler/methanol injection
I read somewhere that the primary purpose of ethanol or methanol injection was for increased power, from the burning of the alcohol; like nitrous. They said that the cooling effect was only the secondary purpose. That surprised me. Is it true?
And how much more power does ethanol or methanol make than gas? I thought I had read this on the STS site but I just went there and couldn't find the piece that said it. I thought I had read somewhere also that ethanol gives less mpg than gas. If that were true than the article would be wrong, unless they referred specifically to methanol and methanol gives more mpg.
