Idea?

Ok so we have this argument about the STS and its haters and lovers, so the turbo is located in the rear (to me a horrible place for debris and weather and other turbo hating things) as opposed to a front mount (heat making setup). So why are they so far in the back (besides the cooling effect from the long *** piping) isntead of right after or at the Y pipe, Why not place the turbo there or somewhere near it where the Y meets or better yet where the cat would be and use a intercooler, isnt this the best of both worlds right after a front swept header? i personally dont see the reasoning for this not to be a possiblity?

What about ground clearance? Not a whole lotta room 'tween the underbody and ground to be sticking a turbo into. Maybe on a jacked up truck...
