I don't know what to do.

My problem is a little copmlex. I've heard conflicting stories about belt slippage with vortech's. I'm going to trade my s-trim in for a t-trim and build a 396 LT4. I want to run 15-17 psi. I talked to More Performance about a T/A they did that was featured in GM High-Tech last year. The car was running 14psi and the owner had to go to a cog drive pulley system due to belt slippage problems. In contrast I've heard of people in here getting my desired boost from ribbed belts. I don't know what to do. Yellow bird said he made 16psi with a 7" crank pulley and a 2.75"blower pulley with his YS-trim. Is the YS-trim safe to run and that boost level on a street car? Also would a cog drive set up be reliable for the street?

I talked to ASP concerning cog belts setups and they told me that they are not designed for everyday use. I was told that you shred belts ($100.00 a belt) all the time.

How much power do you want to make?

A buddy has a cog belt system on his 5.0/ATI F1R combo and he goes through 2-3 belts/day at the track. He is making 24-25psi. I am using a 12-rib setup on my 383/ATI F1 combo and make 17psi with no slippage.

How to drive a big centrifugal is a big problem. ATI is experimenting with a chain drive system, but it's noisy, expensive, and still prone to breakage. Imagine how much damage a chain flailing around on the front of an LT motor could do?

Thanks for the replies. I'm probably going to run the 8ribbed belt at 14-15 psi. Rich, when you were running the s-trim with 14psi weren't you still running the normal belt?
