How unreliable is a FMU?

I am getting a D1SC, with all accessories. And was wondering, how bad, really, is their FMU? It seems like a fairly solid set up. No drastic flaws that I can see ... So I figured using it, with my 30# SVO's, and dailing it in using a wideband O2, it should be pretty comparable to if I was running bigger, 42# or larger, injectors. Also, I would, for sure, be upgrading the intank.

I hate to buy injectors now though, and then buy them again later when I build a low comp, high boost, 383. I may even switch to a low impedence set up then. So im trying to keep from blowing money now. Plus I got them 30# SVO's ...

I know people say alot of times just eliminate the FMU, but how bad can it be with all other supporting mods ? ...

Re: How unreliable is a FMU?

I've got no problem with an FMU as long as it supplies the correct AF ratio.

I used an FMU for years with no issues.

Re: How unreliable is a FMU?

So you guys dont think I would be letting anything on the table, if I was to use my 30# I have now, and a FMU ? I may do this, and replace the intank. This will be a get-me-by set up until I go to a all forged low comp blower motor ...

Thanks for your help.
