Im curious to what setups are you using and what timings are you running with your boosted applications...

The other point is... how to retard???

Is it better to use a BTM or just do a plain curve on the 100kpa vs rpm table to suit it better?

My reply is probably N/A to most here because I own a third gen -- not too many boosted TPI's here, but here goes anyways:

305 TPI
9.2 to 1 CR
D1SC -- currently running 14-psig boost @ 6,000 rpm
Custom ATI twin IC's
Carroll water/alchohol injection
AFR 190's, angle milled to produce 56cc chambers
Pump gas (91 octane)
Zero degrees of knock retard through the 1/4-mile.

36 degrees total timing at WOT with NO RETARD -- don't need retard because my IAC's are 85 - 90 degrees max. I don't think fourth gens with their high CR's can run anywhere near this timing nor this kind of boost.

All matters on how much boost on what octane gas. I get knock at only 4# and 91 octane. I run with the pcm set 2 less and a btm that takes about .7 per pound out. But you really have to mention what your conditions are.

9psi vortech s-trim no IC

224/236 cam

I currently reprogramed my car for 35 total advance and I want to retard about 1 per boost with no knock.,, Hope so...

IATs are around 175

Right now that might work but expect your IAT temps to increase in spring/summer (might see 200+).

Does that 35 include the 2 added internal? Does your table show 33 or 35? What was your octane again?).

I'm using a FAST SEFI system, here's my spark map I use for 1200hp on 93 octane at 20-25psi of boost. Peak IAT's are around 130F on a 90F, humid day.

Can someone check out this datamaster file???

http://netdial.caribe.net/~highland/32deg.uni

or

http://netdial.caribe.net/~highland/32deg.uni

What are your IAT temps???

I see you are running ~25 on what could be 10psi... but what are your IAT temps????

I was hoping to run 25º of advance at 9psi but so far its been a bit difficult...

130F... diff of 70F!!! A lot...

Maybe that is my major problem.. the thing is that the intake is getting heat soaked.. because as time goes by IATs get higher and higher...
