How am I gonna expell the heat from under hood?
How am I gonna expell the heat from under hood?
I have an ATI P-1SC with two core intercoler. The air is scooped up under the airdam sucked up thru the intercooler. It keeps going up past the pulleys and meets with the cool air coming in from my ram air hood. The air then travels over the intake then down back behind the intake and out. That is very inefficient. I would like the air to escape up and out the hood near the wipers. Has anyone done this with a ram air hood? I know I could remove the rubber seal at the base of the hood near the wipers, but if I get caught in the rain I am screwed. I am hoping someone has pics so I can get a reference.
Why would you want that hot (and potentially smoke-filled) air to blow over your windshield?
If you open your windows it will probably route into the cabin.
I have an SS and enjoy the fresh air blowing over the top of the intake manifold and down over the headers and out the bottom. Keeps things a little cooler.

My plan is to use cast louvers, probably from the Lumina Z24, placed near the outer edges of the hood. I don't want heat and oil fumes getting into the cabin through the fresh air intake at the base of the windshield.
