High boost pulley question

I heard somewhere that if you are using a large crank pulley to make high boost can cause damage to the front seal and harmonic dampiner because there is a lot of tension on the blower belt. Can someone provide me with info on this? Like i said, I'm not sure this is true, but I heard it somewhere.
