Re: Help me choose a turbo!!

Well it made 987rwhp/922rwtq (at 23-24psi) on one of my PTK LT1 customers. Combo is below.. at the time he was running a few lbs less boost. ~850rwhp

355 , eagle rotating assembly
JE pistons
Fully ported stock heads
Fully ported LT1 intake
CC custom turbo cam (218/218)
12 bolt rear w/3.42
Gen 6 DFI
6spd/street twin combo
Gen 1 LT1 PTK kit with 76GTS /3" downpipe
Car weight is 3680 lbs...

At 19psi with race fuel and ice in IC....

60ft-1.73
1/8th- 6.70@117.70
1/4-10.13@150.29

Car has gone 153mph with around 19-20psi.

Re: Help me choose a turbo!!

Its was orginally a 2 bolt block, then converted to splayed 4 bolts.

Re: Help me choose a turbo!!

According to the owner it was not modified anymore then the above mentioned. Of course he has not been running it for long, so we will see how long it will hold up in its current state.

Re: Help me choose a turbo!!

I was estimating around 850rwhp could be more, but with a good setup 4-5 lbs makes a good bit of difference. As for maxed out, yes, he said the boost was starting to drop off in the higher rpms. Which is typically a sign of a turbo that just can't supply any more air. I am though furnishing him with my PTE88 and my Downpipe to test with. Should be interesting to see what the kit can put down with that turbo, if the rest of the parts can hold up.
