i thought he ran that 150 mph with 800 and some RWHP??
Re: Help me choose a turbo!!
Man, Turbo head units (turbos kits in general) are expensive! $1500 for a PTE76GTS, whew! I would like a turbo set up. But, I guess I have a lot of saving to do. $4600 for just the kit from PTK and $1500 for the turbo. Thats a lot of MOOLA!
I guess I'll have to stick with my T-trim vortech for now.

yeap....my point exactly..it hasnt ran with the other setting yet...i think its going to be more than double enough for any street car
Re: Help me choose a turbo!!
My thoughts are the same. Even 12psi on a Vortech is enough for a street car.
Even 600rwhp is a LOT on the street, espicially if you run normal street tires.
Jose is alive!

Exactly, if you punch it, even at speed, the car had better track dead straight or you'll be cleaning out your shorts at the very least.
I haven't seen Jose in a while either.

Someone on the forums has their setup. From everything I've read it's the top choice for high end TCS systems. It's extremely expensive, but imagine what it'd do to a street turbo car...

Yes, the 153mph was a lower boost setting. The 987rwhp setting has not made a track run yet.
Re: Help me choose a turbo!!
While we were away in Puerto Rico we did some testing down there, a rotary powered suzuki samuri made 1098rwhp with it. Of course that is at optimal PR, but it goes to show the 1100 crank rating is conservative. Several Supra's have made 990+rwhp with the unit as well.

5 way generic unit: UK # 645= $1215, US retailer price <$995 (you have to email for the price).

As for the original question, I ran your estimated numbers in my turbo calc program:
383 CID
430 Base HP
80% engine efficiency
65% turbo efficiency
70% IC efficiency
90 degrees ambient
1 PSI inlet drop
2 PSI IC drop
Sea level
Min 6 PSI @ 2K RPM, Max 17 PSI @ 6K RPM
FWHP: 821
The GT42 56 trim, a Holset HX40W, or a T72 will all work in this application from 2K-6K RPM.

No, no website for that. Actually most of the info they don't want out in the public. They do a good bit of mud racing, and looks like their is lots of money involved...lol. I just wanted to at least get out to the public, that the GTS is way underrated.
