Ken, I'm glad to see that you are still on here. Do you have any plans in the near future to get another f-body? I wish I could have seen your creation. I'm thinking of going turbo on my 96 SS, wish me luck, lol.

If you still have a cat, check to see if its clogged. My GN started acting like that a couple years ago... would only build 10-11# of boost even if I turned the electronic boost controller up. Checked for header leaks and all, even replaced the boost solenoid($30) and wastegate actuator($95) and it didn't help. I checked the cat and the inside was melted almost shut. I gutted it and i started making full boost instantly... made it quiker than i ever remember it, even when new. So i spent over a hundred bucks just cause of a stupid clogged cat.

The turbo buick's wastegate isn't adjustable from the factory. Guys like to take the actuator arm off, have it cut and threaded, and use a threaded collar with lock nuts to adjust boost..... not very safe since you're basically maxing out the solenoid. The computer is still trying to limit boost by opening the solenoid but when you lengthen the arm enough it can't bleed off enough boost to maintain the factory 14psi limit. So if you run into knock problems the computer can't kill boost... BOOM! The solenoid can only control boost in a 6-8psi range (from 12 to about 20 with one solenoid)..... i wired and plummed in two side by side so now i can get boost over 25psi if desired by only adjusting the controller itself.

I'm not too familiar with the SyTy's setup though. If the're close to the TB's, I'd recommend getting an electronic controller... I think the Boost Commander i have can work with those. Might have to call Ramchargers and ask.

[EDIT]- Some of the newer electronic boost controllers have the ability to control both boost and alky injection systems simultaneously... something very convenient.
