Help! Ati seals bad, again

Well I guess 1500 miles is all the ati seals can take. I just paid those guys 250 to change them 1500 miles ago and it's leaky again. It's a good thing I had the blower off to see all the oil if the pipes. Anyway I remember someone saying that they changed their own seals and was wondering if I can get a part# for new seals and torque specs for the blower. I have a P1Sc.

FWIW, My P1SC has been leaking oil for the last ~37K Miles since I had it on my car. It started leaking after the first week. I called ATI and one of thier techs told me its somewhat normal when it leaks and that he actually liked some leakage because it meant the seals were getting lubricated. I talked to that guy back when the Blower only had like 10K miles on it and now it has almost 40K and it still leaks but seems to preform well. For the first 20K miles I had a 4.5# pulley set up on it, now I have a 17K miles on it with a 15# pulley set up but I am only seeing 10# of boost due to my setup, low comp 383, cc305 cam, Longtube, 2 core IC et....

Hope that helps,
Claude

How often do you check the oil in your blower? I think them telling you that leaky seals is a good thing is a cover up for using cheap seals in their blower.

Its probably is a good cover up and you may be right. I check my blower oil mabee once or so a month and replace it as recomended at every 6000 to 6500 miles (once I did let it go too 7000miles before changing the oil). My blower has been doing this since the first week, and now it has almost ~40K miles on the blower and still continues to do it but seems to continue to work fine. I would say that I loose about ~1/3 of the oil in the blower after every 6000 Miles from the leaks.

Thx,
Claude

It must be the self-contained setups or something because my P600b had no leaks until it had about 80,000 miles on it.

Doesnt burning oil cause detonation? I guess you arent burning too much, how much oil do one of the ATI's hold? My latest vortech seals lasted 20k. There were fine to 20k and then the blower sat on the shelf during and after my rebuild and now they are shot after reinstallation. The rebuild is $312 plus I think they change some bearings.
