There's a few.

www.turbolocity.biz

www.chargedair.com

I don't think QMP has a twin kit...only the single.

Any reason for wanting to go twin instead of single?

Supposedly twins spool quicker and require less tubing, but I like singles, personally. Your wallet will be thicker when you only have to buy one big turbo instead of two.

single or twin

im not dead set on getting a twin, can you put down 500rwhp with a single? ( by the way, if a ls1 is putting out 500rwhp, whats it putting out at the flywheel?) although telling someone you have a twin sounds better than a single turbo. ill be happy when i can say "screw the cobra, bring on the viper"

running one big single will make much more boost than twins. only reason why you would want to run twins is if u only used power in the lower rpm ranges, because they spool quick. one nice thing about the twin setup on v8s is that they dont have a tube that goes around behind the engine, spreading heat more and loosing some potential power. if i was you, i would just stick with the single.

I don't mean to sound like an ***....but you might want to do a little more research before you give people advice.

ok, ill correct him

Assuming properly sized turbos, twins will make the same boost (or more) than a single.

If you have 2 1000cfm turbos, or one 2000cfm turbo.. its gonna make about the same boost.

the ONLY reason not to go with twins is packaging and money. Twins are better, imo.. if you can get past teh massive amount of money/fabrication it takes to do it RIGHT.

I may be wrong, but from what I was understanding is that a single could outflow twins also. I was under the impression that the only advantage of twins is that they spool faster but they get out of their efficiency range quicker. So singles were better because V8's dont have very much lag in the first place because of the amount of exhaust gas they move. And if Twins are better why do Twin Turbo Supra's upgrade by going to one big single?

I am not trying to prove anyone wrong I would just like to know if and where I am making a mistake.

Moving x amount of air is x amount of air. Twins and singles rated at the same max CFM rating will produce approximately the same amount of power, but not necessarily through out the power band. Twins would most likely have a better power band, but peak hp from both might be the same. Also for peak HP you must look at the compressor map of the twins compaired to the single. The map of the single might not exspell X amount of air to produce N amount of horsepower till 27psi. Where twins may hit it at 22psi.
You also have to take inconsideration the use of the car. Take my motor for example. If i put say the equivalant size single according to the max amount of air flow, my car would feel like a turd till about 60-70 when I could spool it with my 6 speed. Where my twins come on hard as soon as I hit about 35mph.
It all depends on the application. There are a few variables to consider when selecting a turbo or two turbos for a car, but i dont wish to preach about the subject.

As for longwaytofall....
Most supras go with a single because of the size of there motor. They need all 3.0ltrs(i think thats what they are) to spool a turbo. Most of the time you see these supras using a 50 shot to help get that turbo off its a$$. Where 2 turbos not a chance unless the exhaust housings were small enough, but then your cutting back on the max potential of the turbo....etc,etc,etc

Going from a single to twins I picked up about 40degrees in my oil temp. Thus I was forced to buy a cooler. The only down side of twins after its all said and done.

coolers

hey sleeper, and all. i didnt even think about oil temp. is that cooler separate from the intercooler for intake air cai? also, did you have to rebuild your tranny?

they also do it for ease of plumbing. remember, they only have one manfold to work with, so one turbo on one manifold is much simpler
