Have you guys read about APS Turbos?
Have you guys read about APS Turbos?
I just came here, after reading on another well known Fbody site and caught a thread about APS.
a. The owner, Peter, stopped making the Fbody kits
b. There is quite a failure rate on the turbos(Cheap Chinese knockoffs?)
c. One good thing, one of the respondents found the Chinese company that makes the cast iron manifolds for the APS kits so you may be able to buy them even less expensively than you thought. He posted the link.
It's a long thread. If you want the link I have it.

im surprised this wasnt over here sooner. i feel like most people on here have FI LT1's. did APS make a kit for the lt1? i read about 19 pages of that thread and its absolutely amazing that a company can do that to customers!
I think you're right about the Forced Induction folks here being (more) typically LT1 owners. I doubt that APS made a kit for the LT1, not sure though.
Yes, Peters response was just jaw dropping for those that had spent thousands on a kit. I guess with him being in Australia, he felt insulated from any real rioting in front of his office/shop. I'm glad I built my kit from scratch(Though Realquick created my hotside). These Turbo shops must work on real thin margins. They don't seem to stick around long.
Maybe they could charge a more realistic price(for their profit) if they could reveal (and the customer realize) this upgrade is quite expensive but worth every dime.

i read most of that post, that peter guy is unbelievable in his responses. talk about throwing away all your business. then some australia guys chimed and said they were done with peter years ago.
Interestingly though, those manifolds for the ls1 are available still from the chinese manufacturer, but minimum quantity is 50 and i'm not sure on the price. cast iron manifolds for a twin turbo setup, that's nice if they are cheap.

yeah i read about this a few weeks ago, its seriously jacked up that they are hosing people, the manifolds of these kits are cheap chinesse made crap, the turbos are knockoffs (confirmed if you read the whole thread) and the company isnt standing behind their product at all, places like APS are the reason some people are scared to buy stuff online...
