Has anyone encountered this????
Took my car for a ride the other day shaking down some work. Wasn't shy about getting it up to 12#. Started it up today and got under and noticed the charger belt walked off the crank pully by 1 rib (I run a P600b with 8 rib belt). Can anybody shed light on why this might happen. The belt seems tight enough as I had no trouble getting max boost repeatedly. HELP
How long have you been running this belt setup?
If not long, then you dont have something lined up right ..
If a while, you could've detonated and caused the blower to jump for a second .. Hit the rev limiter? Would cause the same thing..

Thanks - Have had set-up for a while, entirely possible I could have hit rev limiter in a patch of sand. Wouldn't normally drive it in winter, but recent nice weather was good chance to test new injector setup
Also in some cases the tensioner after a while can wear and cause the belt to track off center. My wifes Z was having this problem. When I changed the tensioner, I could see that the old one was worn at an angle. At this point her system had several thousand street miles.

i had the same problem, it ended up being the tensioner was moved as far over as it could, it was tight when it was just sitting there but when you started it up sometimes the belt would slip and jump off one rib, and sometiems it wouldn t, it would only jump off one rib and that was it. ended up getting a shorter belt and that solved the problem and since then 10,000 + miles it never jumped off once.
I've been thinking about a smaller belt, but I know it will be very tight to get on, but the existing belt comes very close to itself next to the charger. It comes around the charger pulley (2.55") and over the tensioner and as I tighten the belt it gets closer (it tightens up). Thanks
