Fuel Injectors...

Will 42# fuel injectors be enough for a 357 with a vortech T trim @ 14psi with ported heads and cam? Revving to about 6500 aswell..

They are good to about 450-500rwhp in FI applications if you're relying on tuning and not using an FMU (I wouldn't use an FMU with 14psi either)

500hp with 48# injectors? are you nuts?

stock 28#'s are good up to about 400 hp.. i'm sure 48#'s gotta be good for 600-700.

somewhere there is a table/calculator on how much hp an injector will support, anyone know where to find this? i need it too!

He said 42#'s and it is also FI and rwhp also. My 48#s are 85 to 90% DC at 420 rwhp.

That's RWHP, not crank horsepower. And we're talking 42s, not 48s.

I was assuming LT1, which has 24lb/hr stock injectors. Either way, you're making this way too simple. Forced induction consumes more fuel than naturally aspirated. There's a multiplier called Brake Specific Fuel Consumption that you're leaving out.

The best one I've found is here, but you need to sign up to use it. This and the other auto math calculators are definitely worth signing up.

http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/fuel_injector.php
http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/fuel_injector2.php

For instance:

Injector Flow Rate: 42 lb/hr @ 39 psi
New Fuel Pressure: 43.5
Number of Cylinders: 8
Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC)0.55

Result:
Duty Cyle Max HP @ Duty Cycle
80% 516.65 HP
85% 548.95 HP
90% 581.24 HP
95% 613.53 HP
100% 645.82 HP

Re: Fuel Injectors...

I'm running 30lb injector's with my ATI 600b at 8lbs..... It dyno'd 451 RWHP & 438 RWTQ. No FMU, running 58 psi with the vacuum line on and programming to allow this.
Yes, i run almost 100 percent DC at 6000 rpm, but i don't spend much time there and they don't lock up or overheat.

Re: Fuel Injectors...

That sounds about right... 58psi fp is the key to that combo.

Injector Flow Rate: 30 lb/hr @ 39 psi
New Fuel Pressure: 58
Number of Cylinders: 8
Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC)0.55

Result:
Duty Cyle Max HP @ Duty Cycle
80% 425.89 HP
85% 452.51 HP
90% 479.13 HP
95% 505.75 HP
100% 532.36 HP
