exhaust system advice???

I have been running the 4inch Mufflex cat back w/ the Flowmaster on my car for a while now. I don't mind the sound, however, I would like to go back to a 3inch system to alleviate some clearance problems so I can drop my car a little more in the back. Plus, I would like to quiet it down a little. Does one exhaust sytem from another make any difference. I could care a less about the appeance of the tips. I know the benifit of the Borla. Is there anything else I should consider.

I could see a one system versus another making a difference on a stock set up, but with a forged 355 and a D1SC, I can't see how it makes much of a difference? I appreciate any help .

If this was already discussed send me a link to the thread, I searched but didn't find anything.

the muffler will be the main factor in flow between 3" exhausts. Flowmaster isn't good, Borla is just like a cutout. get something with a muffler that is proven to flow good, you'll be set

You can get the Borla and a DMH E-cutout for the Borla. This is what I have and I really like this set up. You can click on my sig or the link below for the video/sound demo between open and closed. There is also a Group Purchase going on for the DMH E-cutout in the Paying Vendors section of this Forum.

Here is the write up (with pics) I did on the install and review of the E-cutout on my Borla:

Videos can be seen here (you will need Quicktime to view):

Thanks! Sounds like I'll be going with the Borla....I'm going to try to find a used one from the board. Does it matter if I get the one for single or dual cats? My car is a 97, but I have the OBDI conversion?

Also, has any one had any problem with exhaust leaks with the DMH cut out?

Thanks again!

If you have a 97 car with dual cats then you will need a borla made for a 96-97 dual cat car. It mostly depends on what kind of Ypipe you have, if you have a 97 style Y-pipe you will need a 96-97 style borla.

I have had my DMH installed for almost 2 months now with no leaks.

Hope that helps,
Claude
