Hi, i have a 94 z28 stock, wanted to make a good cold air induction or forced induction of some kind, without spending 300 bucks on some kit, any ideas or links to do it? thanks

 

well there is no way to make a chep supercharger system, unless you want the electric blower method, but its really doesn't add any real power. you could fab up a cold air induction out of some three inch exhaust pipe and a filter or even some pvc tubing, many people including myself have done it this way. This will probably be a better post for LT1 tech. You could also do a search since this comes up so often. Try www.projecttransam.com for some ideas and pictures

thanks for the help so far guys, i want to make a cold air induction, , so basically run some 3 inch pvc or some kinda pipe to the area where my air filter is right now? and then put a K and N filter on it? that sounds good, basically what makes that any different then the kit K and N sells for like 300? just looks better? thanks

 

looks better, sometimes flows better depending on how well you make one, I tend to stay away from ribbed or flex pipe since this might slow down the flow, other than that you really can't screw it up. If you look at summit they sell some mandrel bent pipes that are three inches in diameter connect this to some rubber pipe connectors at home depot and attach your K&N filter and your done. Some people such as myself cut a hole in the bottom plastic so that air can be sucked up, also you can make or buy a scoop to attach to the bottom to ram the air in.
