EGT Sensor?
EGT's are something you need to consider, but I wouldn't think they are as crutial as monitering your AFR's, or your fuel pressure.
I have an EGT gauge in my car (it would be more important for turbo applications), and it is located about an inch before my oxygen sensor on my drivers side LT header.

Down the road, I will be buying a turbo car, and it will definatly be getting an EGT gauge in it.
I would say yes. If your EGTs are too hot you can fry your turbo. Talk to the manufacturer of your turbo and see what EGTs they say would be a safe limit. Also talk to the manufacturer of the EGT gauge and see how far from the head the probe should be.

Checked my log on my EGT last night, and it read 982 as the hottest it has ever gotten on my Supercharged Z28 in my sig.
But I specifically remember riding in my buddies Supra, and the Turbos getting hotter than 1000.
