??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
Hello everyone, kind of new on this FI forum. Been hanging around the nitrous section, Job duties and all..
.
I have question for all of you.
What do yall do to add the extra fuel to the cars.. Is there program that allow you to reflash the computer like the LS1 crowd has? Is so who do you use.
Or do you use form of mechanical fmu?
Just really curious, since I have gone turbo on the truck.
Any help yall are willing to give I am sure willing to lesson and learn..
And maybe be able to help if anyone has force fed there truck..

Re: ??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
The S/C kits come with a FMU to help increase fuel pressure in relation to boost but Im not sure about Turbos. I ditched mine and went with an aeromotive FPR that does the same thing. But I think this is more of a band-aid until I get it tuned correctly. Tuenrcat or LT1 edit is really the best way to add more fuel
Re: ??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
The only problem with using tuning for extra fuel is that the PCM can only read 31" of Manifold Air Pressure. IE the PCM does not read boost. I personally think the FMU or an adjustable FPR is the way to go on anything under 10 pds of boost.

But there are ways to compensate for that.
Re: ??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
I've heard of some poeople adapting the LT1 PCM to compensate for 2 bar map sensors by modifying the MAP tables conversions... something to look into? I don't know the details of it because DFI made things a bit easier.
Re: ??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
Thank for all the input, and confirming some of my research into the old cars that are FI.
I have had built for me a compete standalone FCP. Fuel control plate, that houses a computer, 2 injectors, Map sensor, and afew other things... Been testing out on my truck now for 2 months and all is working well...
Does this crowd feel there is a place for something like this in yalls world..
Now it can be built in many many different forms from plates behind the throttle body, to just welding some bungs into the tubing before the throttle body...
At this time I am not selling anything so hopefully the power that be will leave this post up..
Anyone who would like to see the software for this product just send me a pm with your email address, and I would be more than happy to send the program to you..
The software does allow you to look at you fuel chart in a 2d or 3D world, it also can data log, RPM, A/R with option connection, Map, TPS, and a couple of misc accessories if you like....
Anyway got to bouunce let me know yalls thoughts...

Re: ??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
There already is, it's the Carrols Superfueller. It uses a MAP sensor as well and uses 3 injectors though. Its built in a plate that mounts behind the throttlebody. There are other more accurate ways to accomplish fueling besides a plate. A simple injector swap would suffice with the accomponied changes to the pcm program which are very easy.
Re: ??? Do LT1 and other do to add fuel for FI???
I have seen the fueler about may years back, if memeory serves me correctly it used dials. This is completely programable as if a stand alone system.. What got me thinking of this, is if you install a larger injector you give up a little of the driveablilty of the car.. Seeing as you only need the fueling at boost..
Right now if you install a blower or turbo with larger injectors you would have to reset the intire tune just to drive it without wasting a bunch of gas.
Anyway just a little curious this product is not for everyone, if you can tune and your happy cool.. I was also thinking of the carb, guys might need a little something...
Thanks for all yalls inputs/.

If you program in the correct injector constant and the offsets, you will never know you have a bigger injector in your car. Many times these values are available from the manufacturer.
