Re: d1sc 383 12lbs of boost =....

Very similiar to my build up, Victory racing Forged 383 9:1 compression, PORTED AFR LT4 heads (290 range) Ported LT4 intake, monoblade, d1sc pushing about the same amount of boost. As far as cam specs I am thinking about going with a custom 227/239 in the .580 range with some 918 beehives, TI retainers etc, I have a few good ideas on Lobe profiles. 4inch FMIC with a custom front bumper cover (LS1 front end).
I believe to many people use the 224/236 on too many motor setups. Its a good cam but is not the correct choice for everyone. Do you care to give us an idea on cam specs, I would guess there similiar to my cam selection, am I right . Trickflows out of the box are good heads, built for FI setups, I think they flow around 250 or so, but the again there is a lot more going on that flow numbers .

Is this car a auto or stick, numbers on a dynojet I persume, any alky or 100+ octane, or on Pump gas. Thanks

The car is a six speed car I only run c-16 fuel in the car the insurance is of octane is nice.

I cleaned the belt, all the pulleys surfaces now the car is making 15 #s of boost and it is out of injector 128% duty cycle

95# injectors here we come

As soon as I ask Sam at Combination motorsports if he minds i will post up the cam specs.

that is an awesome setup you have t\a kid what kind of numbers has the car made?

I don't know yet, I am still putting it together, I will post pics up in a month or so of it on the engine stand, The topend and bottom end are built nicely, hopefully I can be in the same ball park as you when its done. I plan on actually getting a spring loaded tensioner by SD Concepts, From what I hear this will eliminate all Belt slippage and basically make you be able to run more boost. I have the number if you want to call them. I think the ATI unit is junk IMHO, from what I have seen.

My buddy made 654RWHP on his D1, with ported LT1 heads (LIGHT PORT) cc305 cam, forged 383. Heres the site
http://www.lonniesperformance.com/
CLICK on Customer/Project cars Click on the red SS. his best time is acutally at 10.02 with almost a 3900lb race weight.
heres a video of the car at the track http://tta89.net/cars/marc/94z/.

Another guy on the board did 580RWHP and 620RWTQ on his 383 with Ported LT4 heads, intake, 58mm, 224/236 high lift version on a p1SC with 8lbs with the twin high flows.

How is the drivability and gas mileage?
Depends on the Gear, and cam mostly and the way the person drives the car. FOR FI cars that make 600RWHP and TQ I think a 3:23 gear is about perfect, with that much power not a lot of gear is needed to get the car 60Fting well and its still a bitch to get traction on the street. I would be willing to say 2:73's would be fine in a car making north of that. With 3:23's my car use to see about 1600 RPM at 60 opposed to the 2100 it sees with the 3:73's.
Theres no reason FI cars can't gear NEAR STOCK Gas mileage with there setups. I always laugh at the N/A boys who run these huge cams, have crappy driveability and make A LOT Less power than me and get about 12MPG OOO wait, I use to be one of those guys .
THINGS CHANGE, lol

very nice setup and awsome numbers. i didn't like to see that you are running out of injector. i was hoping my 60's would be all that i would need for my setup which i hope to be in the same area as yours.

JZ28Max your from Memphis I see, I live in Northeast Arkansas, about and hour and half from Memphis, Ever go to the motosports park or Street racing at Rivergate. I heard rumors of a Red Ws6 down there thumping the ground pretty good, busting everyone's ***. You wouldn't happen to know them would ya. Whats the specs on that 94 Z with the charger????

Re: d1sc 383 12lbs of boost =....

MMP opens feb 18. no way the z will be ready though. not sure of a red WS6 but there is a pewter LS1 t/a that has everyone wanting to run him. just a few mods but hooks like crazy on the street. mine is back at the builder for another set of pistons and picked up a set of ported canfields and going with a different cam. hopefully will see some better numbers like stated above.
