Is any one using aluminized pipimg? Does it rust, can it be polished? Can it be welded with mig welder.

Re: Cooler Piping

I'm using aluminuzed piping. It doesn't rust, except where you weld it. I don't know if you can polish it. You can weld it with a MIG, but it welds better if you grind off the aluminum coating withing 1/4" of the weld.

Re: Cooler Piping

I'm thinking of taking mine to be powdercoated. I would think that would help reduce the possibility of rust forming.

Re: Cooler Piping

Ceramic coating is really nice for the piping as well.

If the standard stuff used in performance muffler shops is aluminized, then yes you can polish it pretty well, I have before.

Aluminumized piping can rust. Flowmasters are aluminized and look how quickly they rust out. lol
