Compression Ratio Advice
Compression Ratio Advice
Until my 383 is built, I want to put forged pistons in my otherwise stock engine and run 10# of ATI P1SC intercooled boost.
I'd like some suggestions on what CR I should run. I was going to run 31cc dished pistons which should put me a little lower than 9.0:1, but some people say this could make the car feel a little weak down low, unless I run more boost, so the boost comes on stronger at lower rpm's. I don't want to exceed 10# of boost on the engine.
I can only get 91 octane gas, which, at 10.5:1 compression with 24 degrees advance and 11.3:1 AFR, would audibly knock.
I would like the highest CR that will still allow me to run 91 octane fuel with 10# of boost and not have knock.
Thanks.
