Talking Cold Weather...FI Guys gotta Luv it!

It was ~28 degrees yesterday and I opened it up on a back road. I noticed the car was pulling MUCH harder. I had my sister in the car with me and told her to look at the Boost Gauge while I was trying to keep my eyes on the road. She said it hit 12#. (thats 2# more than I normally get in ~75* weather). The car felt freggin GRREAT, felt like it picked up another ~35-40Hp or so on the old butt- dyno. And since I had it Street tuned so conservatively in last April, it was not running lean at all, even with the extra 2# of boost, actually it was still a lil rich....Cant wait to Get My new Y-pipe, Fix my header leak and get it Dyno tuned.

Just thought I would share & wanted to see if the rest of you guys notice an increase in boost & power like this when it gets this cold.

Thx,
Claude

Its kinda cold (even for this time of year) weather report states it should be in the 40s but we have been in the high 20 to 30s this week and lets not even get into the windchill. We also had a lot of ice covered roads on Tuesday. My car is driven everyday. The only time I leave it home is when there is 2 or more inces of snow on the ground and or ice. But Rain or Shine, its on the road.

Thx,
Claude

if my car wasnt lowered i suppose i could find a way to drive the car all year long here, i do drive a firebird all winter, but buffalo winters/drivers/salt just dont seem like a good idea for my good car...would love to go rippin on it in the cold air all winter tho

The motor likes the cold weather but the tires dont so theres a compromise. I could never get on it in this weather so I have to wait till the roads warm up....spring time

Hell yeah....The first run was at a 40MPH roll and it still broke the tires loose and wanted to get outta control sideways. The second run was at ~50MPH roll and it stuck a bit better but at red line I was very happy to see and 'feel' the extra boost and power. I could not imagine what it would feel like if I had twin tubros like you

Thx,
Claude

Between the cold air/ground and the fact that the roads are constantly wet, I haven't dared to get on the gas. If things dry out I will definately dare.

It was 27 degrees when I got home the other night. I walked in and said that it was good track weather. Layed into my Suburban while doing about 20-25 MPH. That 6800lb truck started to go sideways through the top of first and into second. I think it will be going for a trip down to Atco next month )

I liked the cold weather until I broke the #1 piston in my new 383, presumably due to leaning out.

Yep, car makes way more power this time of year. Need new tires soon, they are really spinning now with the 3.73's. Also need to fabricate some scoops on each intercooler to increase the effiency.
There's so many things on my list with this car, I don't know where to start.

I don't pull my car out of the garage all that much, but a dry cold day is usually more temptation than I can stand. This thing LOVES cold weather. It's strong in the warm, but it is like a different animal in the cold.
