Cogs, T-trim, Longetivity
I heard from a friend that the cogs are a bit tough on the cranks front bearing as well as the S/C. Now the T-trim is the Heavy duty and its supposed to widstand the abuse...
What do you guys think about cogs and such? I have a single keyd crank hub...
I may be maxing out this t-trim so I find it a bit advantageous to use cogs.
Any experiences will be appreciated...
Also.. what is more or less the price range we are talking about for this setup?
The other thing is... Is ASP the only source for 7" cranks?
Thanks

Highlander I have an interest in cogs myself.I have been talking to Larry at ASSC Racing(847-473-4720)He makes a cog setup he has the cogs but you can probaly get from ATI.His bracing to stop bracket from flexing along with few other parts that I can't remember. He suggested having the crank double keyed. And use ATI super damper. He did one for his firebird w/ F1 putting out 20+ psi.Call him will be glad to talk to you about it

Larry does not fab cogs. They are ATI pieces. What Larry does is fab the cog idlers and support braces for the main blower bracket. He also fabs the inner hub for the ATI Super Damper which is far thicker than the original. His also uses two keyways.
Most important: All the above is for a third gen. His Firebird is a '92 running a 350 TPI at 25.8-psig.
I know all this because I run all his stuff on my F1 equipped third gen.
