cogged pulleys with S-trim?

I've heard from Vortech that it's unsafe (for the head unit) to run cogged pulleys with the non-Heavy Duty S-trim. They said that some S-trims were HD versions, and would be fine to use with cogged pulleys.

Has anyone run a non-HD S-trim with cogged pulleys?

Any reliability issues?

Thanks.

If Vortech says not to, why would you chance if regardless even if one or two people had luck? Seems foolish, IMO.

The only way I can run my new counter-clockwise S-trim on my car at this point is to use cogged pulleys. With current gas prices, this car is no longer a daily driver. It will see very little mileage, and no track time set up this way. If I remember correctly, using cogged pulleys will drastically reduce bearing life on a non-HD Vortech. Assuming I didn't remember correctly, I'd like to know exactly what to watch for.

I remember hearing the same regarding killing the bearings in them. Do they have an upgrade/rebuild program to convert your non-HD to HD?

I am doing it. My pulley system still uses the spring style tensioner, so there is no extra pressure from the belt being too tight. Also I dont drive my car so a long life is not an issue with me.

Cogged belts and a street setup are a poor mix. It is difficult to get good belt life out of a motor that is constantly going from open to closed throttle. Tends to strip the teeth off the belt. Not to mention that it's hard on the blower. Also, there is no need for a cogged belt.
