Procharger guys, come in!

Is there any reason, under normal conditions the bolt that holds the impeller on could come loose? Has anyone here experienced this?
Thanks, Steve

It should never happen, and very rarely does. When it has happened somebody was usually "exploring" at one time or another.

Re: Procharger guys, come in!

I had my d1sc serviced 2 months, and maybe 500 miles ago by procharger. They said everything looked great so they just resealed it and sent it back. I reinstalled it, filled it up and away I went. I have never "explored" with it or even spun it hard. I'm using the 7.65 lower and a 4" upper and saw maybe 12lbs at 6200rpm. Tonight I was looking the car over and noticed the air filter had a bulge in it so I removed it. I found the spacer and bolt inside the filter and the impeller is trashed! The bolt appears very clean with no loctite residue visable. What do you guys think? Am I missing something or Did I do something wrong?
Thanks, Steve

Hmm.

Sounds like you need to speak with Procharger. They had recently serviced the unit and shortly after the impeller fastener had failed (come loose). I don't see how this could be error on your part. I would say confront Procharger.

Agreed. This is the first time I've heard of this, and being that they just had it apart, it's too coincidental.

Re: Procharger guys, come in!

They do have kickass customer service. IK called once after I fuxxored up my Procharger tag on the plenum when I had it powercoated. They sent me a new one for free, no charge on anything.

Definitely a company that knows good business ethics
