Cog setup???

I need to know who to get in contact with to get cog pulleys for a vortech s or t trim. Thanks

Also while I'm at it. Are the brackets the same for an s and t trim on an Lt1 kit?

Is this a street car primarily? I wouldn't run cogs on a street car.

Call ASP, they'll hook you up with any kind of cog pullies that you need.

Yes it is going to be primarily a street car I guess you would say but I will also be at the track on probably a weekly basis. I plan on running 17 pounds or so intercooled and I do NOT want the belt slipping. Why do you suggest against it though Rich? Thanks, Jarred

Re: Cog setup???

It's not needed and is expensive, for etarters. But there is also a list of issues that have to do with the belts either stripping or coming off. The issues with stripping relates to the sudden rpm change related to gear shifting. When the motor slows down, the impeller wants to keep spinning and has quite a bit of inertia. Over the many cycles of this on a street car, belts fatigue and don't last very long and they are quite expensive, hassle factor aside. A friend has a 5.0 race car with a cog F1R and until he went to a clutchless transmission the $125 Kevlar belts he was using lasted 3-4 runs! And he was powershifting.

I have never seen belt slippage be an issue with an S-trim when properly set up even with an 8-rib belt. But if you are worried abnout it, you could do a 12-rib. BTW: I don't think you will see 17psi with an S-trim if you have decent heads.

I'm working on getting a t-trim right now and that's what I plan on running the 17 pounds with btw. How much is a 12 rib setup going to run me do you think?
