If you're talking 450 at the flywheel, fine. If you're talking 450 rwhp, I'm not so sure. I'm not the most knowledgeable blower guy here, but I think going for those power levels N/A may be a little self-defeating if you're going with the big blower. The lower compression that the blower will want will rob some N/A power and you'll probably want a cam that's optimized for the blower, as well. You may be able to get there with REALLY good heads and a solid roller cam/valvetrain that'll turn to 7K and maybe more cubes, but you're still going to have to push it with the compression. Then when you go to crank it up with the blower, you're going to be fighting the detonation devil... IMO, I think 350 at the wheels N/A is about all you can reasonably hope for in an engine optimized for a big blower. Then you can spin up the blower for the big numbers. Then again, I could be totally wrong...

Sounds like a fun project, whatever you decide. Good luck.

With a decent set of heads and a 10.1 compression I made somewhere about 450 hp. Since then I have added AFR heads a much better intake, DFI, going with a better cam for what I have and everything will be port matched. So I know even with a lower copression around a 8.5 I am pretty sure I should be able to make the same amount of Hp. but yes I was talking about at the flywheel. If I got 350 at the wheels on motor alone I would be happy cause when all is said and done I with the procharger I should be pusing somwhere around 600 or 650 and when the nitrous comes on I think I can count on around 700 hp. On a street driven and somewhat emissions legal car. I think it would be a awesome combination been putting parts together to build this set up for a long time now. oh and by the way tex I have a guy converting my harness to low impedence and I run a Accel gen 6 dfi.

I may be wrong, but I thought Gen6 required an injector driver or something to run low-z injectors? Of course, I may be wrong since I've only been using Gen6 for about 3 months, but I could've swore I read that in one of Accel's books/manuals/cut up dead trees. Gen7 has no issues w/ low-z injectors.

Also, any stealthiness you may have had, will be obliterated by the D1X. A Weldon pump is loud..no way around it. But you'll never need another pump again.

Mine is over two years old, his is about 6 months, zero problems out of either of them.

Yep, but my A1000s been on more like a year now . It's no louder than the Accel inline pumps that I've ran in the past. You definitely can't hear it when the car is running...

the guy that has been doing my DFI conversion who rewired it(jims permformance.com) He runs a similar setup in his vette and he said nothing about a driver and if he said he can make it work I dont care how he does it as long as he does it. I have never heard a d1x is it that loud. the only reason I got the d1x because I was having my D1 rebuilt and it wasn't that much more expensive to go to a d1x. Can you see your pumps from the outside of the car. Whats the advantage of a inline vs a dual in tank beside the ease of removal after installation but I plan on having a access hole cut above the tank so that is a non issue.

Main disadvantage to the intank pumps is that they are setup to use the stock pickup and lines, which I feel is too small to support the power level you wnat.. IMO

Of course, the guy making 1000 hp on a 3/8 line is sure to pipe in anytime now!!

Mine and Speedmisers pumps can not be seen, unless you get down and look up under the body...

Same here. My Weldon is hard to see (black base) and the sump I put in the tank isn't even visable. I repainted the sumped tank flat gray (just like stock) and will be shooting the -12AN feed line w/ a quick shot of black to cover up them fancy blue and red fittings and blingin' braided line.

I understand where you're coming from on wanting to be stealthy. I played that game on the street for over 5 years. Unless you're on the ground, it's hard to see all my fuel stuff. If you're peaking around under my car, you better have a damn good excuse and make it snappy.

That's incorrect if you are talking about the large external type pump.
I've run this pump and it was quiet.
If it is loud, it is not the pump but what is between the pump and tank. Probably the incorrect fuel filter. A restrictive filter will cause a loud pump, I know this for sure.

I have a like new Paxton pump if you want to buy it. At your power level, you need an external pump, and bigger fuel lines. Do it right the first time and you won't be sorry.

Currently I'm running a Mallory 110 FI pump and all braided lines. It has been terrific, ie really quiet, and very reliable for 3 years now.
