Bracket Fabrication complete
Re: Bracket Fabrication complete
The bracket looks good.
When you guys cut a hole for access to the fuel pump, are you replacing it w/ a trap door or just resealing it w/ caulk?
BTW, the shirt is cool
Later,
Steve.

Re: Bracket Fabrication complete
I replaced the hole with a sheet metal trap door. I am going to add an extra pump soon, so I wanted to make sure that I had easy access back in. I am upgrading injectors (along with all the lines, rails, etc.) My ultimate goal is to push around 700rwhp, so I definately want to make sure that we get enough fuel!

by the way, from your sig, it looks like your into restoring old slow cars....why are you in the forced induction forum anyway?

As far as my cars / parts, the 88 i've already sold to a customer, I originally had traded it to get the heritage, being it is a rare car, the 88 previously had an LT1 with T56, a laundry list of suspension components, a bottle, etc, I had to give it up to get the rare car, got it now and im about to start a replacement for the 88. The 88 currently now has an LT1 / T56 sitting in it again that my customer is having me install, a racetronix fuel pump setup, go figure theres no hole above his fuel tank, theres already quite a few spohn and bmr components under the car, along with a magnaflow catback, and still waiting on SlowLateParts to ship the headers.
Wouldnt be so quick to judge what someone does with cars by simply whats in a sig.

God, how I hate threadcrappers ^
Anyway, sexcellent job on the bracket and the trap door install. Your b/f is very lucky, I'd give my eye tooth for an attractive blonde that could use a nibbler.
Most people that install the intercooler in front, have to fab a bracket that eleminates the inner bar completely. As long as the front doesn't flap, you're good to go.

and to everyone else that has supported me... I appreciate it. I'll make sure to let you all know how my "ugly" car is doing once it is done.

Here is a picture of the turbo on a mock up motor. The motor that it is going on is a 370ci Iron Block (Diamond Forged Aluminum Dished Piston and Eagle rods). You can check out more at www.turbocamaro.com.

Anglehonee Keep up the great work and try not to let, you know who, get to ya. BTW, checked your turbo pic and ya might want to double check the drain back into the pan from the turbo. It doesn't look <in the pic> that it's flowing in a positive direction which could cause turbo seal issues. Maybe it's just an illusion, or maybe the engine is going to tilt back in the car? A lot of engine stands tilt the engine forward so it's difficult to see for sure in the pic.

If you think I'm bad, you might want to tell this guy how unsafe his car is because he cut out quite a large portion. That's racing for ya... damn unsafe cars.
Although, I'd rather crash into a wall at 100mph in his car than any factory car. http://www.tdi-llc.com/images/custom...initub%202.jpg

to respond to this assanine post; but decided it wasn't nearly enough to express my opinion. So here you go, what I really think of your post.

BTW, according to your line of thought, your 88 IROC is not safe with that LT1 because GM didn't put it there. Therefore all the crash data they had with the TPI engine is way different than what you now have, not to mention that T56 is different weight etc.. It also requires a different trans mount which is a VERY integral part of the chassis.
We could go on and on about this but you're not going to budge on the matter, and neither am I, or anyone else that thinks your logic is "fuzzy" at best.
In the end, roll cage = stronger than GM factory engineering. I don't think even yourself needs crash testing to agree on that fact unless you're further gone than we think.
Sorry to bust up your post anglehonee.

What do you mean, I look different? If you are comparing that to the calendar picture on turbocamaro.com, of course I look different! I don't get dressed up to go work on my car
Just regular ole me! Not trying to be a super model......but thank you. I appreciate the compliments. I have put alot of work into my car and I have set some pretty high expectations for what I would like to achieve. Of course I couldn't do it without the help of many supportive people... Brian (Madman), Al - Stainless Works, Keith - safety fabrication, Tom - LS1Speed, Majestic Turbo and most of all Brian (Brains)...and MANY others! I can't wait until the car is done.
