Bottom End help!!! Turbo LT1

I've been browsing through long enough now and need to ask for some advice. I have a OFI single turbo through the stock motor right now havent driven it yet but want to forge the motor soon enough to not blow anything. I want to eventually run 12-14psi through. What kind of rotating assembly should i look into for a good 383. What kind of success have you boosted lt1's had a with a forged motor where should i go for parts or assemblies. This will be a frequently used car as well. I dont know the engine that well to piece by piece without some help.

I will be going with ported stockers as well for heads and havent decided on a cam but figure a custom grind from comp cams

you will need to get the compression down, a forged piston set, rods, and crank would be highly recommended for 14psi. I would personally recomend eagle 4340 forged crank, eagle 3d h beam rods, upgrade to the arp bolts, and a srp or other forged dished piston...i think for the compression levels you would want for a 383 the dish is around -30cc's

whats the diffrence from 350 to 400 main and 4 bolt to 2 bolt

not trying to be rude, but i think you need to do some research on the lt1 and sbc, this forum is a great place to start too!

to answer your question, you need an lt1 specific crank, for one piece rear main seal, it has 350 mains. preferably start with a 2 bolt main block, and convert to 4 bolt splayed caps. You need to find a machine shop/engine builder in your area to talk with.

piece by piece? you cannot simply swap out components in a motor, the rotating assembly has to be ballanced for each compenent before installed.

edit: did you mean buy a complete rotating assembly or buy individual peices? if thats what you meant thats your call. check out www.cnc-motorsports.com
