need help with turbo headers(manifolds)

need help with turbo headers(manifolds)

everyone im trying to turbo my lt1 camaro and im trying to figure out whats the best cheap turbo header i can do! can i use the stock manis and turn them around? can i use 5.0 mustang headers and use my stock flanges? any help would be greatly apperciated thanks!!

Try the search button there is plenty of people making there own kits right now.

Years ago I descovered that shorties for a Vortec powered half-ton chevy clear everything if the AC is gone. That's what most people opt to use in their home-built kits.

These look like they would work real well. Wish I would've come across them sooner.

Those are what I used, Hedman 69650. I saw them in the Hedman catalog back in '03. You just have to hack off the AIR pump flange and weld it shut.

I have heard that the stock manifold turned backwards are good close to 900RWHP.

BTW- That collector is only two inches. I ran mine like that for a couple years. When we rebuilt the hot pipes this year we hacked off the little collectors and mated a 2.5" V-band to it. The old ball-and-socket flange kept coming loose.

I wasn't being critical. I just wanted to post up the right part in case someone wants to look into them.

If you were doing the project on a big-block, are there any manifolds (perhaps from a late model 8.1L truck?) that would work on a standard BBC?
