Boost with vented opti?
Boost with vented opti?
This may be a retarded question, but I was wondering if itd be beneficial to install a small standalone tiny airfilter and run it to the fresh air source of the opti and run the vacuum source to the front of the maf side of the intake tract on my vortech setup, that way im not pushing and sucking air back and forth through the OPTI and it would still always be pulling vacuum due to my bypass valve while cruising. seems like it should work? Im just worried with the amount of boost that I expect to run that I would damage something inside the cap from the pressure
Re: Boost with vented opti?
the vacum that runs into the manifold from the opti has a check valve on it so you wont be pushing any air throught it you just need to do somthing with the fresh air hose that runs into your elbow.. i just put mine on the intake side of the blower

Re: Boost with vented opti?
i would think you could get one at any parts store.. just tell them you need a vacum check valve for whatever size the hose is.. figuring most moron at the parts store wont know what you are talking about you might have too descripe it or better yet rob one off one of your other vacum lines and show them.. they are just the little plastic sort of disk looking things that go in the vacum lines and you should be able too blow through one side but not the other.. just make should you install it the right way or it will be sucking nothing through and blowing boost out
